                    The man is a success
                    who has lived well,
                    laughed often, and loved much;
                    who has gained the respect of intelligent men and women
                    and the love of children;
                    who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
                    who leaves the world better than he found it;
                    who never lacked appreciation of Earth's beauty
                    or failed to express it;
                    who looked for the best in others,
                    and gave the best he had.

Thoughts

Hi Boss, My name is Ben. I just learned the news from our colleague in Beijing. It is saddening. I was on the Unocal China team from May 2001 to July 2004. I experienced most professional development in those three years, under your leadership. You were like a father, not just a boss or colleague, when you provided feedback and help. There are so many things that come to mind. Memory of your presence, image, voice, laughter and brisk steps is not distant, and I hope it always remain that way. I think you taught me to be generous by being an example. You were like a star giving light when I struggled. I cherish that light, and will carry on that light. Eighteen years later, a belated “Thank You” to you. I now live on Hainan island, working as a freelance translator and raising two kids. Be a good professional at work and be a good father/husband at home, like you were. Rest in peace…

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
